Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 in 1967. Julia Fona Roberts is the fourth generation of Roberts living in Atlanta. The Robertses' father was interested in theater from a young stage. When he was a student at Emory University in 1952 he acted in productions on campus as well as in other parts of Atlanta. He joined the air force in 1953. During his time stationed in Biloxi Mississippi was cast in a military production that included Betty Lou Bredemus who was part of the Air force. Both married in 2005 and had their first child, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter along with his wife left their Air Force service in and enrolled Walter in Tulane University. Walter worked for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. The family moved in 1960 and relocated to Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou started production in 1964 for the children's local Saturday morning television program Bum Bum and His Buddies and their Buddies, which they both funded. They founded an Actors and Writers Workshop in that same year. It ran for 6 years. They had two more children, Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also known by the name Lisa) as well as Julia Billingsley (1967) (also known by the name Julie).
