Kathie Lee Gifford co-hosted the fourth hour alongside Hoda KOTB from 2008 to April 5, 2019. Entertainment Weekly referred to the Gifford and Kotb show as "appointment television" as USA Today called it TODAY's Happy Hour. in 2014 Gifford penned the critically acclaimed TODAY the Musical, which featured the host and cast of the show. Each month she had written a new song to accompany the popular show Everyone Has a Story. She was elected to the Broadcast & Cable Hall of Fame in 2015.
